Your product has been updated, the new launch is just around the corner and you need to show your consumers and clients what’s new. Sometimes, product updates are not very significant, but even then you will need to change your promotional materials, product catalogs, your website images, and your marketing videos.
The time it takes between building a prototype, organizing photo shoots and updating your marketing material can be the difference between a successful and an unsuccessful campaign. On top of that, you have a matter of cost: companies with a vast product catalog, or machines and equipment that are difficult to transport, will have have a higher cost when it comes time to photographing and/or filming them.
To solve this problem and greatly reduce the burden of updating product catalogs and all other promotional materials, websites and videos, there’s a simple solution: replace traditional product photography with photorealistic 3D renderings!
How do photorealistic 3D renderings reduce costs?
In order to create high-quality photorealistic 3D renderings, expert artists use the latest software (the same used to make Hollywood blockbusters such as Avatar and the new Lion King movie.). The difference is that in our case, our artists work with CAD files.
Thanks to these files, and technical data specified by product engineers, we are able to create photorealistic product images, like the ones we created for Motorola.
Once the images are done, they are inserted into the desired scenario, always in the most realistic way possible. Take a look at the example below to see what I mean.
This was a project we created for Jacto. The image above is 100% photorealistic 3D. If the same image was to be captured using traditional photography, the cost of renting the warehouse and lighting alone would be over $25.000 USD a day.
Now, imagine this same image being used in promotional materials. If Jacto needs to update their product catalogs or any other material in the future, they are not going to need to do a new photoshoot, or spend more money with photographers, photography and lighting equipment.
We’ll be able to quickly do all of the updates by using their CAD files.
As a result, the company gains in both cost reduction and team optimization. Not to mention efficiency, since manipulating rendered images is much easier. Even though we mentioned updating product catalogs, the same goes for updating any other marketing and sales materials.
Give life to your products when updating product catalogs
Just because your images are printed, it doesn’t mean they have to be static. Using 3D rendering, when updating your product catalogs, you can use interactive product configurations and dynamic 360-degree displays (through Augmented Reality for example).
To better understand the idea behind photorealistic 3D rendering, keep in mind that it goes well beyond the reach of traditional photography and photoshop. Here’s another example of one of the projects we did for S.I.N Implant System.
