Picture this: You’re going backpacking across Europe and you need to buy a backpack made for this. After a search on Google, you go into an online store and look at some pictures and reviews. Based on this info, you decide which backpack to buy.
This is what most of us do when we’re buying something online. But what if we could add something else that would improve our product’s analysis and visibility? What if, for example, we could watch a video showing details and special features of the backpack, such as special straps, how its dividers work, how much stuff you can fit in it? Wouldn’t you agree that it would be much better than just pictures?

Therefore, video marketing grabs your consumers’ attention and provides them with much more information than any other available means (like photos, for example). Furthermore, people retain much more information through video than any other means.
Speaking of retaining information, if an image is worth more than a thousand words, then video content gives you more credibility. Consumers have a higher probability of trusting a company that is willing to show their products in action from different angles.
But if you’re still not convinced that your online store needs an E-commerce Video Marketing strategy, did you know that search engines love videos? According to Fathom, a video link may be 53 times more likely to appear on the first page of a Google search! That means that the chances of a consumer who is doing a Google search landing on your online store are much greater if your store has a video.
In the end, we all know that our website content (not just in our online stores) needs to sell the product. And if there’s something that is truer than ever, is that consumerswant to know more about a product or service before making a purchase. Along with high-quality images (which we can’t stress enough!) an E-commerce Video Marketing strategy is crucial when it comes to highlighting your products and not leaving any doubt about its functionalities.
